Low frequency noise assessment

The department has released a draft Low Frequency Noise Assessment Guideline (PDF, 692K)* that will, once finalised, be applicable to the assessment of low frequency noise emitted from industrial premises, commercial premises, mining and extractive operations (not blasting using explosives). The guideline is intended to be used for assessment and planning purposes and to evaluate current issues.

We welcome your feedback on the draft guideline. Submissions can be emailed to wlca@ehp.qld.gov.au until 5 July 2013.

Following consideration of submissions, a final guideline will be released for use by the regulated community.
